Hey guys,

I've been thinking about doing these for a while but there is always a right time for things I believe so here we go.
I'll be sharing my thoughts and things that I believe in, hoping that it'll be useful to you. Take the goods and I hope it'll improve your life for the better.
Feel free to share with me anything that you experience so its a two way thing and so I can get inspired by your thoughts.

Whatever field you go into, take some time to give back to your community.

Benefits of giving back:
- you feel good about yourself
- you're helping change someone else's life
- remember that someone helped you to get where you are today
- you build a network of people that will help you when you need it
- you're telling others that you are serious about what you do

So take some time to help someone in your field. It could be as simple as commenting on a buddying artist work and sharing with him/ her a few tips.
Tutorials, Tips, Techniques, paint-over are just some of the form in which ou can give back.

I also believe that by helping someone you show them that you care. I've experienced on numerous occasions where someone just need me to talk to them, just say a word or two to encourage them to move on.

Lets spread positivity.

Let me know if you've helped somebody and how you feel after doing it?

  • Listening to: Nothing (Forgot about the music)
  • Reading: The Perfect Bait
  • Drinking: Nothing

Screw feeling good, it's good for you on a practical level too! You can understand something 100x better when you have to explain it to someone (like in a tutorial or crit) vs just thinking about it yourself. Forces you to be clear in your own mind and see where your own knowledge lacks.

Plus it's super-fun and they might ask questions you never asked yourself.

One of my friends got a project he wants to do. Nothing commercial but still pretty big. It has great potential and I offered my help for it. Now itīs somehow "our" project.

When you got free time and need something to work on and donīt just want to work into the dark offer your help. I am not speaking of working for free because theay are your friends or something else. Work for projects where you think it could be worth the effort. It could be a great for your portfolio and something more then just another artwork.

Yeah, I know what you mean and I myself have done such projects. Off the back of these projects i've secured more jobs. The dots always connect in your favour.
You're doing a great thing helping him out. Bet you're satisfied using your skill to help someone?

I think I am. Sometimes I ask him: "Dude, when do we move on? Time for the next step. Man I got a great idea how about we bla bla bla?"

Itīs not just about doing illustrations. A big part of it or even the main part of it is about planing the pages and the layout. Itīs different from doing this in university. You donīt work because someone told you and you need the attestation. You work because you want it and you want it to look good.

Youīll never know who might see it and offer you a job because of this. A project youīve done with a greater passion because it is yours. Like raising your child or something like that.

That's very true and funnily enough that has already happened to me, I was helping someone with their work and
they recommended me to other client who eventually took me on for a project. It really works.
